We had a lazy morning today and headed into Drumnadrochit to the Loch Ness Exhibition at 1pm. We bought tickets for an hour long boat ride around Loch Ness for 5pm. We went to Urquhart Castle which is only a few miles away from Drumnadrochit and the cottage. After visiting the castle we went for the boat ride and then visited the gift shop at the Loch Ness Exhibition. We stopped at the chippie again for take out food for supper. The weather was very good all day! Here are the pictures from the Exhibition, Urquhart Castle and the boat ride.

Urquhart Castle has had a turbulent history, changing ownership many times. It's thought at one time the site held a Pictish Fort in 597.
The first real evidence of anything recognisable as a castle dates back to 1230.
